On the 12th April, I set a new Australian record of 5 stones weighing 100kg, 115kg, 125kg, 145kg & 165kg on chest high barrels on a 30 metre course in 21.5 seconds.
The 165kg stone felt so light, I shouldered it for the 25,000 strong crowd. The sun was shining, the crowd went wild and, with a great bunch of friends, this made for a fantastic weekend in the southern highlands of NSW.
I’ll definitely be back next year to defend this title.
Derek Boyer of Albury, 2003 champion, lifts the last and newest of the Bundanoon Stones of Manhood – a massive 165kg to win in new record time of 21.5 seconds.
